IRES conducts research on a wide range of environment and sustainability issues of contemporary concern, with a focus on integrated, qualitative and quantitative analyses of human and naturals systems. Research is often conducted in close collaboration with stakeholders and partners, from local enterprises and decision makers to governmental bodies, NGOs and international businesses. Current research themes touch upon issues of governance, decision making and risk analysis in the context of built environment and energy systems, ecosystem services and water resources.
