Bio

Sameer graduated with expertise in the social dimensions of climate impacts, adaptations, and transformations in the global South. His Ph.D. explored the concept and practice of livelihood water security, with a specific empirical focus on how state-driven efforts to create “drought-free” villages in Maharashtra, India, were re-shaping livelihood water access and distribution patterns. After graduating, he took on a position as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Environmental Policy & Disaster Management with the University of Pittsburgh, where he analyzes disaster resource allocation processes of energy and water restoration in the aftermath of compounding climate disasters in Puerto Rico.
