IRES Student Society Treasurer, 2023-2024
Ming is an MSc student supervised by Dr. Mark Johnson at UBC’s Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability. Before coming to UBC, Ming completed her undergraduate degree in forestry at the University of Alberta. Currently, Ming’s research focuses on the transfer of water and energy in the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum. Ming is using observational data collected at the UBC Farm to investigate the interactions between soil water and soil greenhouse gas emissions, in the context of climate-smart agriculture. In her free time, Ming plays badminton and reads screenplays.
IRES Student Society Bio
Hi there! My name is Ming and I’m the Treasurer of the IRES Student Society this year! As a second year master’s student, my research focuses on soil water and soil greenhouse gas emissions. Sports, illustrations and music let my dopamine neurons spark on a daily basis. As the Treasurer, I keep track of the student society’s expenses and I’m your go-to person for reimbursements of club activities based on your receipts. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns!
