Bio

Jasmine Lambert (she/her) is an MA student at IRES, supervised by Dr. Robert VanWynsberghe in the Faculty of Education. Her research focuses on integrating land-based learning and nature connection into outdoor programming, specifically at the UBC Farm Wonders Summer Camps. Jasmine’s passion for nature stems from her early years living on Saturna Island, which shaped her appreciation for the environment, and understanding that nature is not outside of us, but rather a part of us.

She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, with a double major in Environmental Studies and Peace, Conflict & Justice, a minor in Human Geography, and a Certificate of Sustainability. During her undergraduate studies, Jasmine worked with Environmental Defence Canada and Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services, gaining diverse perspectives on addressing the climate crisis. After graduating, Jasmine worked at the Pine Project, an environmental charity focused on inspiring a love of nature in urban areas, which deepened her interest in environmental education and led her to pursue graduate studies at UBC. In her free time, Jasmine enjoys sharing meals with loved ones, spending time by the ocean, and exploring the Pacific Northwest!
