Bio

Minhui Li is a PhD student at the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability (IRES) at the University of British Columbia, supervised by Prof. Kai Chan.

Her research focuses on biodiversity conservation in human-dominated landscapes, particularly how wildlife responds to urbanization, landscape change, and human activities, and how this knowledge can inform conservation planning. At UBC, she is interested in understanding long-term changes in urban bird communities and their relationships with the ecological and social dimensions of urban landscapes.

Before joining UBC, Minhui completed her master’s degree in Resources and Environment at Fudan University, where she studied the scale-dependent responses of urban wildlife to environmental factors using camera-trap data from Shanghai. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Ecology at Sun Yat-sen University. Her broader research interests include urban ecology, landscape ecology, and conservation biology.
