Bio

Angela Fu is an MSc student at the University of British Columbia’s Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability (IRES), supervised by Dr. Mark Johnson. Her research examines the environmental drivers of carbon exchange in two coastal marshes in Metro Vancouver: a brackish marsh in Steveston, Richmond, and a salt marsh in Boundary Bay. Using eddy covariance measurements, she investigates how climate, hydrology, and salinity contribute to differences in whether these marshes act as carbon sources or sinks, and how these controls vary seasonally.
