Journey into Course Design

Date & Time: July 14 & 21,  9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

This two-part workshop walks through the three stages of course design: reflection on situational factors, writing learning outcomes, and exploring assessment options and instructional strategies to support learners. This program helps faculty design effective learning environments for in-person, online or blended courses.

Instructional Skills Workshops for Faculty

Dates: July 22, August 5, 6, 9 & 10, November 26, December 7, 13, 14 & 16.

This workshop series focuses on giving new and experienced educators an opportunity to try new teaching approaches, and to sharpen existing skills in a supportive atmosphere.

New Faculty Orientation: A Focus on Teaching, Learning and Student Success

This session is designed to help new faculty members learn more about UBCV and the opportunities available with a focus on teaching, learning and student success.Hear first-hand from colleagues about how to have a successful first year and explore factors that promote student learning and wellbeing.

Teaching Development Program for New Faculty

  • December 2021 (Midpoint Checkin Session)
  • April 2022 (Capstone Session)

This 10-month program helps new faculty build a foundation for their teaching careers by providing a network of support as well as professional development opportunities focused on teaching practices.
