Our actions support a healthy, sustainable and prosperous Yukon now and into the future. Yukon government’s Climate Change Secretariat has the lead role in ensuring Yukon government actions support a healthy and resilient Yukon in a changing climate. We work within Yukon government and with our partners to identify needs, opportunities, and priorities; promote and support action; and monitor and report on success.

Our ideal candidate will have proven capacity to provide leadership in strategy formulation and advice to senior management levels of government that blends political, social, scientific, and economic perspectives. The Director represents the Yukon at national and international tables on climate issues of mutual concern. To be effective, the future incumbent will require well-developed skills in shaping programs of a government-wide scale, and proficiency in developing and facilitating implementation of program policies. They must be effective in a leadership and representative roles on multi-party working groups at local and national levels, and skilled in leading/facilitating cross-government decision-making processes. We are looking for someone who can lead, manage and develop our high performing branch team, contribute to our focused and positive workforce, and can motivate and align human resources to strategic priorities.
