The Environmental Sustainability Research Centre at Brock University in Niagara, Ontario, Canada is hiring at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, to begin July 1, 2018.

 

The Environmental Sustainability Research Centre is a transdisciplinary unit at Brock (https://brocku.ca/esrc/). It offers an undergraduate program in environmental sustainability (https://brocku.ca/esrc/minor-in-sustainability/) and the Sustainability Science and Society graduate program (https://brocku.ca/esrc/ssas/). Brock University has over 18,000 students and 600 faculty members and is located in an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve on the Niagara Escarpment in Ontario’s Niagara Region.

 

The Centre is seeking candidates with extensive knowledge of environmental sustainability and a transdisciplinary orientation. The candidate must have a PhD in Environmental Studies, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Natural Resources Management or a related discipline. Postdoctoral training is highly desirable. Areas of specialization sought include: agriculture; business and environment; climate change and energy; ecology; environmental psychology; and/or, water. A strong record of research, publication, and teaching is required. Established connections with community, national, and international organizations is highly desirable.

 

The successful applicant is expected to maintain an independent and productive program of research, publication, and funding that is consistent with the university’s promotion and tenure policy. The position entails teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as well as supervising graduate students within the Master of Sustainability program. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to Centre, Faculty and University service.
