MA/MSc/PhD Position: Climate Adaptation Justice

Dr. Anthony Levenda is looking to hire a graduate student to help on one of two ongoing projects focused on: (1) climate adaptation planning in the Gulf Coast and/or (2) environmental justice in informal housing settlements in the US. The position will be based at the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oklahoma working towards an MA/MSc/PhD in Geography and Environmental Sustainability starting Fall 2021. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity for conducting original research, and a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches and methodologies, such as critical geography, political ecology and/or science and technology studies (STS).

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field is required. He seeks applicants with experience and/or interest with research topics including environmental justice, climate adaptation, community engagement, housing, climate activism, and related topics on social inequality and environmental racism. The position will be funded for 24 months through a graduate research assistantship with more funding available in teaching assistantships or additional research assistantships for PhD students.
