Bio

Grace Schaan is a masters (M.A.) student in the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability and is supervised by Dr. Kathryn Harrison. Her research interests include policy for climate change and regional variation of public acceptance of carbon pricing within Canada. She will focus on how politics and federal-provincial relations are influencing ongoing negotiations for carbon pricing in Canada.

Grace completed a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies at the University of Regina in 2020. During her undergraduate degree, she completed a semester abroad at Massey University in New Zealand which furthered her interest in policy and planning for sustainable development. Prior to joining IRES, she worked for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada in the National Agroclimate Information Service. In her free time, Grace enjoys hiking, camping, listening to live music, and recently learned to surf during her summer in Tofino.
