The European Commission has shown its commitment to climate leadership by launching the European Climate Change Program, and proposing regulation of Climate Finance. The role of banks, especially the European Investment Bank and the future European Climate Bank, will be crucial to attract private and public capital.
In this talk, French Visiting Scholar Catherine Malecki will discuss the close ties between the French and European initiatives to strengthen Corporate Social Responsibility, as well as France’s leadership in Climate Finance via newly proposed regulations for the Green and Social Bonds market. This lecture will be an opportunity to exchange ideas regarding developments in Canada and future cooperation with the European Commission.
Catherine Malecki is a Professor of Private Law and a member of the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de Recherche en Innovations Sociétales at Rennes 2 University, France.
