June 15th 2018: Blueshore Financial Longest Day Road Race



The Thunderbirds Track Club would like to invite your department to participate in The Granville Island Brewing 5K Team Challenge that will be held on UBC campus on the evening of Friday, June 15th.

Have a fun Friday evening run with your friends and co-workers and raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, then enjoy a post run party with a Band, BBQ and Beer Garden.

This is an excellent time and venue at which to bring together staff for a fun run followed by a post run party. Challenge another department to field a team and see if you can beat their combined time (based on each team’s fastest 4 times).


Entry is simple:


1. Register as a Team Captain HERE and set up a team name

2. Then invite your friends and co-workers to sign-up.

3. Ask your co-workers to donate and sponsor you.

4. No team, no problem, just enter as an individual.

5. Not able to fund raise – no problem – part proceeds from registrations go to the JDRF.


All donors are eligible for a draw for dinner at Le Crocodile

Donors of $25+ get free testing tour and tasting at Granville Island Brewing

Donors of $50+ are entered into a draw for one of 5 GIB Skim Boards and a trip for 2 to Tofino – Ucluelet – Pacific Rim National Park Getaway care of Orca Airways and Water’s Edge Suites. a Tofino Getaway care of Orca Airways and Water’s Edge Suites

Every $100 donation counts towards one entry into a draw for dinner for 4 at the GIB restaurant.

All donors (however small) are entered into a draw for dinner at Le Crocodile ($200)

Tax receipts will be issued for all donations of $20 or more.

All team members receive aa complimentary first drink.
